Big Trees Conservation Project
Singha Estate believes that the most effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate global climate change is through 'natural carbon sequestration,' which can occur efficiently through the presence of trees. Trees can absorb carbon dioxide, up to 80% of the greenhouse gases released worldwide. Moreover, trees help stabilize global temperatures and increase humidity by releasing water vapor into the atmosphere. As a result, Singha Estate places great importance on conserving trees in every project and initiated the 'Big Tree Conservation Project.' This initiative has been in progress since 2020 and has successfully saved 33 perennial trees, which accounts for 63% of the total (7 out of 11 construction projects).
One For One Reforestation Project, planting trees on 1,000,000 square meters
The company’s 'One For One' project aims to plant 1,000,000 square meters of trees by 2030, equivalent to its upcoming construction areas in 2030. This project involves planting three types of forests: watershed, urban, and mangrove forests. Last year, more than 470 trees have already been planted in partnership with Singha Park Chiang Rai, local communities, and various local business partners.
Biodiversity Survey Project
Following the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP15), which promotes the expansion of protected areas, green spaces, and biodiversity by at least 30%, the company has aligned its operations with this initiative. It has collaborated with the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development (Public Organization) (BEDO) and the Green World Foundation to conduct biodiversity surveys on their properties, including SAii Phi Phi Island Village Hotel, Santiburi Koh Samui Hotel, and Singha Park Chiang Rai. The data and knowledge acquired have been transformed into engaging media to raise awareness among employees, customers, and interested individuals.
